Yes, I know I still owe everyone my mini-trip report from the weekend, but I’m still wrestling with my photo editing software. I have a case open with Adobe, and perhaps if they can tell me why Photoshop Can’t Save, I’ll post something tonight. Meanwhile here’s a car to ponder, and it isn’t the MG B in the background. Looks like a Renault Dauphine to me.
Hmm, the rocker cover looks wrong for a Renault but I agree the lines of the back end of the car make it look like a Dauphine. On the other hand this is a tuned motor (with 19bhp stock, the Dauphines needed all the help they could get) so it could have some Gordini parts on it. I think I’ll concur with Ove on thi one.
And yes Chuck, the Gordinis will be swarming around the Mini next week and this is something of a sore point. They are in the same class as us. Despite having more power and much better handling we always have trouble with them -Sacre Bleu indeed!

Argh! Of course it’s an Alpine. I should have listened to my instincts telling me it wasn’t a Dauphine motor. The Alpine A110 features in list of top cars I’d love to own and next week there will be literally dozens of the buggers swarming around us.
