Motivation for a Mad Dog

A big part of getting prepared for a Rally is psychological. Getting that gumption-tank refilled. So as our friend John gets ready for the Monte Carlo Historique, here’s a little 4-part vintage footage via YouTube for motivation!

Enjoy!

  1. Chuck,

    thank you ! amazing…great videos indeed !
    Best wishes to John !!
So far so good, I should be able to attend the Reims Start next week
and give a encouragement word to John and Bill.

John, do you know where/when the srutineering will be?

  2. Fantastic! Classic stuff. Somehow I’d missed these on YT. 40mph average up an Alpine Col is very fast in a 50s car. Typically our averages on the MCH are a hair less than 50kph (30mph) and that’s going flat out in a very fast Mini. These drivers were simply amazing.

Phillipe: Scrutineering at Reims is in the Parc des Expositions. Typically we go around 11.00am and are there about 2-3 hours. The we go back to the hotel, suit up and head back for the procession into the centre. The start is in the square by the city hall and the first car is off at 8.00pm. Scrutineering is open to the public as is the start so please drop by and say hello. More information is on the Automobile Club de Monaco site (www.acm.mc)

  3. Love it!

On public roads that are open to all….. NO seatbelts…. NO helmets…. NO roll bars… on bias ply tires.

I’ve loooong had this on my bucket list! C’mon, rich uncle…kick off, willya?

    🙂

MD, I’m jealous as hell! I wish you bon chance, mon ami! We expect a full reportage, mate!
