Enough already! (part 27)

The view out my bedroom window this morning. We’ve now had six straight weeks of below freezing weather here in the normally cool-but-not-cold Cascade foothills. I can make BioDiesel, but I can’t wash or dry it. I have a backlog of waste oil. Please, can we have temps back in the 50s again? Pretty please???

  1. Funny thing (not ‘ha-ha’ Chuck, yer getting snowed on again’ funny, but peculiar funny) that so many GW/AGW deniers point to these instances of extra cold/snowy places as evidence of the fallacy of GW, when in fact, James Hansen hisself predicted over 25 years ago, that these conditions would be likely with increased global temps.

Ah, science ain’t easy to grasp!

In any case, I feel your pain, not because we’re getting a lot of snow (out here in the South Platte drainage, we’re nearly 50% BEHIND in precip) but because I’m now Officially. Over. Winter.

As I get older I find I can still handle cold OK, in a personal way, but resent it and snow, inasmuch as it limits my time out in the ‘boy barn.’

However, given my *extreme* dislike of humidity/gray skies, I’m still in a good place, winter or not. So, ol’ buddy…this too, shall pass.

Unless I become unemployed this week.

    🙁

  2. Still no snow here in Maryland this winter. The kids are lamenting the fact.

We did see sub-zero temps last weekend for the first time in years. Froze a pipe and flooded the newly renovated first floor. Water and laminate floors do not mix.

  3. FWIW, CG: I tried biodiesel in my rocket heater and, besides not lighting off easily under 30F (had to use a propane torch to assist it) it worked well.
