  2. OK, now that I’ve seen it, here’s my take on it: Up till the Holocene (now!) the video is *reasonably* correct, and as we map more it will get closer to the ‘rightest’ we can be. We have mapped enough layers and surfaces, sinks and seas, to get a fairly good ‘picture’ of how our current land masses became what we know today.

    From the Holocene on (some are wanting a new age, the “Anthropocene” to describe now on, till we all croak!), it’s pretty much geopoetry! We can forecast fairly well perhaps 100,000 years into the future but beyond that, the rest is a country song. Cute, catchy, but VERY loosely based on reality.

    Pretty cool video, in any case!
