Car Photo of the Day: Superleggera

Whenever I find myself in the presence of one of these cars I find myself attracted to this portion of their bonnets. Just something about the way the light plays on the shapes, and this wonderful “light” Italian script that acts like a punctuation mark on the car’s bold statement.

Do you know what car it is?

  1. I’ll let others play, here; I *love* this car and having had the great fortune to drive one, I’d dearly love one.

However, the “Superleggera” part always makes me guffaw, given the car’s *tonnage.*

Glad they made it SUPER light…wooda HATED to see the regular, heavyweight edition…

  2. I don’t think any Touring Ferraris were so plain, so it’s gotta be an Aston Martin. The lack of a crease at the forward end suggests it’s not a DB6, and even the later Vantage and DB5 might have a visible forward crease, so I’m leaning towards DB4. It’s got a low scoop, so that means Series 4 (1961-1962). But that’s just a guess!

  3. every day is a school day! would have never guessed an Aston…. have never noticed the badge but like so many Astons its a lovely looking car.

  4. When I git home, CG, I’ll take and send you a snap of a similar hood/bonnet, and see if the regulars can guess it!

  5. And when you get those pix, you can call it “Superle-ding-dading-dading-dading!”

    🙂
