Car Photo of the Day: Le Mans & Mille Miglia Pedigree

This car was famous in its era for podium finishes at prestigious international sports car races, yet it comes from an unlikely place. Can you name the car, and the place?

Corvairdad nailed it on the first try: It is a 1952 Nash-Healey roadster. Here are some additional photos:

It belongs to John Gumbinger of Lake Stevens, WA, and he brings it out to our local cruise-ins at the Burger King in Arlington on sunny Saturday evenings.

  1. How about a 1952 Nash-Healey assembled in Turin, Italy by Pininfarina with a Nash Ambassador Super Jetfire engine and driveline from Kenosha, WI?

  2. Damn, C-dad..yer FAST! I’m with C-Dad on this’un, too, at least as far as the engine.

  3. Bingo, Corvairdad nailed it on the first try. I was specifically looking for Kenosha, Wisconsin as Turin is pretty much the “Detroit of Italy” but I’ll happily accept both in this case. Speaking of Detroit & Kenosha a commentator on “TheTruthAboutCars.com” once said “If Detroit could do as much with as little as they did in Kenosha, they would not be in the mess they’re in today.” Never have truer words been spoken since the “Big 3” are essentially being consumed by their own sheer mass.

  4. *A-HA*!!!

Them’s the rear fender vents with chrome doomajiggies I was thinkin’ of!

I really gottsta get a new hard drive……:)
