Just a little engine porn for your Wednesday morning. I’m not an expert on Maranello Machining, but I’d venture a guess that this is a 2.5 liter Columbo, but I could be way off. Do you know what it is?

I am no Ferrarfi expert but it does look like an early Columbo block
As for the liners, it’s not that they’re that thick; thats a wide ‘flute’ at the top of the liner to provide a sealing surafce for the head gasket. All wet liners have more or less the same fluted top.
