There are two “fakey-do” cars in this photo. One is very easy to spot. The other? It might be a challenge.
Bonus points for naming the underlying/previous identity of the donor chassis/engine combos.
This photo taken at the “Crusin’ to Colby” car show in Everett, WA, specifically to show two fakes in one photo… no artistic composition intended. 😉
Well, the ‘fakey-do’Auburn Speedster is a dead giveaway from many clues, the MOST egregious being the ‘down in da ‘hood’ fake exhaust pipes on the *wrong* side of the car: its chassis could be anything, but I’ll guess a Vee Dub. The other *might* be the plastic-bodied T-buckets(s), but not sure.
The E Type and the ‘Vair, however, *appear* to be authentic…
😉
“The E Type and the ‘Vair, however, *appear* to be authentic…”
Who would try to fake a Corvair?
The Auburn is indeed a VW Beetle with a crappy fiberglass body, which looks very little like an Auburn Speedster. The other fake remains undetected.
I guess the Daytona spider in the back started life as a corvette.
“The other fake remains undetected.”
Must be that E-Type in the back row 😉
Is it the funny-looking T-Bird. partly hidden by the telephone pole? It looks fakey-do…:)
So the 365 in the background was *real*?
Ove found the other fake, but did not identify the donor car correctly. What else can you transform into a fake Ferrari Daytona Spider?
Bugger, I’m too late on this. But my no longer eagle eyes spotted the dodgy looking Miami Vice Daytona-vette almost immediately.
The “Daytona” is actually based on a Nissan 300ZX chassis.
The fakey-do Daytona isn’t NEARLY as objectionable as the Auburn..at least it somewhat has decent lines unlike that execrable Volkswagen POS…;)
But, hey…I’m biased!
