(Guest) Car Photo of the Day: Name That Car.

Can you ID this car?

Reader Stephen Foskett relayed this image to me looking to ID the car. My first thought was a Cisitalia, based on the shape of the windows, then I thought better of it and guessed Talbot-Lago. Given how many Talbot’s were finished by coachbuilders this might be a tough one to narrow down, but my vote goes for a Talbot-Lago T26 from the early 50s. What do you guys think?

  1. or even 1950 Talbot Lago T26 Chapron Coach… or flickr tells me this anyway… 🙂

like I have a clue if its not Aussie or Austin/Morris from the motherland…

  2. The portholes don’t match the Chaprons on Flickr. This is a troubling CPotD since we don’t know the answer! It was in a side garage at the Cité de l’Automobile in Molsheim. I was drawn to this not-on-display car more than the reproduction Bugatti Royale sitting in plain view…

I’m going to go with Talbot Lago, but can’t be sure…

  3. Scratches head. Pored over a couple of books and countless websites to try to find something. Is there a higher resolution image available? It’s almost got XK120 wheelbase proportions, and the drum brakes in front and rear would agree with that, but it’s certainly not one of the ‘famous’ Jag customs. Can’t tell if it’s RHD or not from the picture.
