  1. I’m not an eBay person but does it not show that the bidders reserve has been met? or is it just I would need to join and log in to see this? our equivalent here (trademe) makes it very obvious.

glad you are going to get the money you are after

  2. Chuck, you’re a smarter man than I, but you’ve vetted this new-to-eBay bidder? Buddy of mine has been burned twice on vehicle “sales” to dead-beat bidders with zero feedback. Just sayin’. Glad it got bid up to reserve, though!

  3. True Roger, but the auction still has a day to go, and “it ain’t over ’til it’s over” as the Yogi famously said. Plus if the winning bidder flakes, we’ve got several people who have also bid, who we can offer the car to. I have already had several very pleasant telephone and email conversations with potential buyers, some of which haven’t even submitted a bid. The winning bidder gets first crack, but after that it is an open market again.

What this exercise proved (mostly to my father) is that this is a viable method to market the car to a wide audience of potential buyers. He’s happy.

  4. Those are some great images with the auction, Chuck. I particularly like the self-portrait in the mirror. Best of luck finding a good home for it.
