Car Photo(s) of the^X^X^X Independance Day

As American as Apple Pie.

Today is Independence Day. A day where commemorate a very brave group of men who stood up for self-evident truths and boldly cut the ties that bound them to antiquated notions of leadership and government. So today I’ll show photos of only American cars. However, no ’57 Chevy’s here – they’ll be unique in some way, and if you’re up for the task you’ll identify them in the comments.

An Offy-powered ...?

Um...

...yeah...

...and on that bombshell...

Time to get out of…

...

OK, so it's pretty close to a '57 Chevy…

Here comes the fuzz!

Iconic, and easy to guess, but I really love these cars.

Ditto here.

  1. heh..the first ain’t *quite* an Offy, but a 215/235 chevy “stove bolt’ six festooned with Offenhauser accesories, and important sideline that had Fred Offenhauser’s name attached.
nice adpatation of the late chevy HEI ignition: wonder if theyh made it like the original, where

  2. I love that ’59 Dodge Royal Lancer. I’ve got a sweet shot of a yellow-and-gray one that I’d love to cruise in some day. If you’ve gotta have an over-done 1950’s American car, a Royal Lancer sure beats a Chevy!

  3. Odd: the 810 Cord *ain’t* quite right:
    -No Cord ever came with the Auburn “Flying Lady,” or those odd badges on the coffin nose and diff cover;
-810s also had the troublesome, but handsome, hand-cranked headlights in each fender, whereas this -thing- has the Auburn headlight buckets and lenses. A customized cord, mayhaps?
    🙂

  4. Nope…it’s been ‘tarted’ up, since the originals never had the flying Lady or the external headlights, or it may well be some rare, one-off from the factory but I’ve never seen an 810 with that ‘livery.’
