Name that object!
Last time I went up to English Classic Cars in Chilliwack I brought the cannister up and borrowed Geoff’s media blaster to clean up the surface rust on the inside. It came out looking pretty good, but still discolored. So this past weekend I painted the bottom and bracket with hammerite paint, and then shot the inside of the cannister with “chrome” paint to match the (incorrect) chromed exterior.
Last night I brought it inside and polished up the chrome while watching the Senators/Devils double overtime playoff game. It is looking good!
Now I just have to find an air filter!
air cleaner cover from the Jag – you’ve just spent the whole weekend polishing the inside with a toothbrush…. just because you could!
🙂

My guess was air cleaner cover, too, though I’m not sure why the inside needs to be quite so clean. 🙂
Close Jerome. It is the cannister, not the cover.
I’ll post more info and pics directly in the body of the blog post.
cannister/cover – like boot and trunk if you ask me… 😉
hope you cleaned the outside as well!!?? 🙂
Jerome
and if I’d read ahead… 😉
so are the air filters hard to find?? certainly a big space to fill with a filter

You’re all wrong: This is the part that will now not allow goosbee to send his youngest to kolledge. And anyway, it’s the Illudium Pew-36 Explosive Space Modulator!
(sorry, Marvin. I *had* to say it.)
Hey, Chuqqie…
K&N makes a filter replacement for this setup! …weg……
