Since Shaun aced the multiple-guess question yesterday (I think he “cheated” and read through the rally story where that shot came from, but hey I’m OK with that!) I figured I’d post a few followups with the pictured cars. Here is the Peerless 8 “Green Dragon”. It has a wonderful sound when underway.

The Peerless is “the dog’s bollocks” as they like to say in England. Same goes for the Ferrari barchetta and the 212 Inter. Great pics. What was the rally, BTW?
All of these were taken on the 2005 Colorado Grand.
“The Grand” is really not a rally, but more of a tour. The cars it manages to pull in are amazing. I was invited there as a consolation prize when I had to drop out of the first ever Going To The Sun Rally in 2005 due to my engine having to get rebuilt (click “The story behind the 65E” up to the right there for all the gory details. Be warned, it is gruesome and involves the thievery and overall bad behavior of a well-known Englishman now living in Texas.)
My write-up of The Grand can be found on my old web server http://www.goolsbee.org
I spent a week co-driving one of those dream cars everyone should pilot at least once before they die: a Mercedes 300sl. What an experience!

Chuck, I have already read the story of your E type -it’s very enlightening. I would actually like to talk to you about my Jag. Would you be so kind as to contact me by email (wjwmorrow@yahoo.com). I need advice on a broad range of issues. Many thanks, John.
The Peerless is also amazing given that it was built (the chassis that is) prior to WW1, specifically 1908. The engine I believe was developed in 1920. It was originally piloted by none other than Barney Oldfield.
