I don’t think that’s string, that’s wire to the hot antenna. But I agree, it’s horrid. Of course, the base car isn’t exactly an eye-opener.
I have this theory that there really are people out there who have zero taste–and they’re usually cheap, to boot. You see it in houses, etc. They hear of a trend and then they execute, but half-heartedly, cheaply, and with no eye for style. That’s this guy in a nutshell.
Sometimes it’s OK NOT to stick out of the crowd.

I think the string is there to retain the wing should it fly off on its own. 😉
