Something about this photo is out of place. Can you spot it?
This was shot at a rest stop of a competitive rally I participated in some time ago. It was a scheduled tour of a noted car collection. As you can see there are some impressive machines here… but something is odd. Out of place. Can you identify it properly?
Challenge #2 is to name all the vehicles.
The XK-SS is a left hooker?
That beats my “Honda motorcycle facing the wrong way” by a long shot.
Correct Mr. Wigton. The XK-SS is a LHD replica. All of the real ones from Coventry were RHD. Good eye!
So what’s the car in front of the 356? I’ve seen one before, but I cannot place it. Abarth? A Zagato design of some sort?
A neat story of the *only* “designated” LHD XK-SS…which wasn’t!

Chuck I hope you don’t mind me blowing up a section? I’ll take the photo down if there’s a issue, but here is a blow-up of the red car in front of the 356:

No problem. It is an Abarth 205 Vignale Berlinetta.

Hmm, I’m not doing well here of late. I don’t know this Abarth model at all. It’s great though. I love the portholes. It would be a good car for the Mille Miglia -don’t suppose they are cheap…!
VERY cool car…and I missed this the LAST time ya asked…LOL!
Notice the angle-drive, third-brush generator, in this link:

Molto Bene! This car’s a lot like the E: It *looks* bigger than it truly is!
As a completre aside, but *kinda* related: ALL real 1935-36 Auburn Speedsters only had exhausts exiting the hood on the driver’s side, *NEVER* on the passenger side, which is always a dead giveaway of the repro provenance of even accurate Speedster replicas.
A thorn in my side, may I add…..!
