A CPotD just for Paul Wigton! Why? The fancy “filters” on those Weber Carbs of course. 😉
They’ll keep out rocks, but that is about all. Whoever can name this car gets the title of “Car Geek of the Year”.

I read an article once that claimed big mesh grilles like that actually cut down on airflow while adding zero value…surely the definition of “go faster” parts. All they need is a “Team” logo.
An Abarth Simca?
Fiat Bambina Abarth – or something like that isn’t it?
Jerome
It is an Abarth (naturally!) but I’ll have to look at my notes to determine the actual make/model.
Note the bars that held up the boot lid and provide clearance for the Webers and intake manifold.

It is a Fiat Abarth 1000, at least according to this pic:

It’s a Fiat “Double Bubble” Abarth..a really spiffy car! A guy here in Denver owned the world’s LSR for 1000CC cars with one: google his name “Ben Jordan.” Really neat guy!
Chuckles, I must say that although I do visit this site almost daily, the CPoDs are..well, softballs…;) I don’t pipe up ‘cuz it t’wouldn’t be fun for all else! When ya get a *really* hard one, I’ll jump in!
As for the “filters’ on the Fiat’s webers….it’ll keep out low-flying pigeons, too..;)
I think that MAYBE K&NS are actually *better* than the 1/4 wirte openings!
Keep up the good work!
