Another Museum Piece

The copyright notice is wrong on these, as I’m pretty sure I took these photos in 1998. I flew from the UK to NYC to participate in the 1998 New England 1000 Vintage Rally with my dad. It was the first time I had rallied with him since I was a teenager in his old MG TD. It was also the first time I had seen the 65E, as he’d completed the restoration (the first one that is) while I was away in Europe. One of the stops on the rally was a museum in Maine, that housed this wonder. Anyone care to guess what it is?

  1. I remember seeing this in my AQs, but I cannot think of its name: If I’m not mistaken, it’s based on mid to late 30s Ford running gear (looks like a ’38 Ford pickup grille)..am I even close?

  2. well… I seem to recall that it was a Stout Scarab, but that was another car at that museum. I looked at my noted from that rally, and I didn’t bother to mention what this car was… so… Your guess is as good as mine! 🙁

  3. Actually, chuckles, I think you’re correct! I’ll check out my AQ’s, especially if you remind me to!
