Wonderful Noise

Filed under: Cars — chuck goolsbee @ 9:19 am

Reader Rafe Saber pointed me to this video on YouTube. I’m quite familiar with it, as I own the DVD, but was unaware that Speed/VBD has posted them online. This series of videos has stunning production values and the sound especially is a delight. They’ve lost quite a lot of that quality in the YouTube transmogrifying process (which destroys all video quality!) but even so, the brilliant and wonderful noise of the XK engine still shines through in the first fifty seconds of this clip. I could listen to that sound all day long.

Couldn’t POSSIBLY agree more! I’m a bit wary of putting SuperTrapps on Tweety, especially after listening to that wonderful music exit out the back of the car for 4500 miles, this past summer. Rest assured, if the ‘Trapps are *too quiet*, I’ll find some suitable replacement for the irreplacable Abarths!

As for Victory by Design? I’m rather *partial* to this clip –or at least that last 2 minutes of it… 🙂

  2. Alain de Cadenet….the world’s *LUCKIEST* automotive reporter!!!

I keep coming back to this video, chompin’ at the bit to hear my XKE roar to life once again, this spring and think to myself…

    I *hate* de Cadenet.

    ;D
