Car Photo(s) of the Day: Closer look at the Iso Grifo

Front View

Rear ¾ View

A couple of other viewpoints on the Iso Grifo posted yesterday. Jerome thinks it looks like a Jensen Interceptor. I can see the vague resemblance, but I have to say the Iso is a much nicer looking car. Longer, lower and wider. It is amazingly powerful and sounded wonderful as well.

  1. Both the Jensen Interceptor and Iso Grifo are Italian-designed cars with American running gear. What’s not to like? 🙂

  2. Sandro: “What’s not to like?” I drove several Jensen Interceptors back in the UK in the early 70s and here’s my list: Big, heavy, lacklustre automatic slush box, 70’s British fit and finish (i.e. awful), expensive, appalling fuel consumption, powerful but uninspiring motor, complete lack of sporting feel. The interior was quite nice, though and I concede the overall shape is fairly attractive. The satirical magazine, Private Eye called it the “Bunsen Contraceptor” which is very apt. I have never driven an Iso Grifo but it is surely better than the Jensen.

  3. yeah Ok I see the differences well enough now…. but remember I’m far away and standing upside down so give me a break… I thought I was a roll for a while there! 🙂
