Vote for your favorite E-type Image for the 2011 JCNA Calendar

2011 is the 50th Anniversary of the E-type Jaguar, and the Jaguar Clubs of North America are publishing a commemorative E-type Calendar. I’d like to submit a photo or two for inclusion. One of my car, and one of another car. Here are a bunch of good E-type Photos for you to pick the “best of.” Make your vote in the comments section and tell us why you like it best.

(sorry for the big red copyright notices… just trying to protect my images a bit)

Edit: I’ve been asked what camera gear was used to shoot these, so I’m adding that to the post…

  1. This is a tough one. My criteria: what I’d like to see in a print on my wall. There are a few here, but…

My choice: #2: Mt. Shuksan (Your car)

    Gorgeous!

As for the prior category, my vote: #4: Larry Wade’s Series 1 3.8 OTS

  2. so much to choose from!

    Here’re my fave three:

    1) “XK Head.” Great change-up, a unique POV, both in composition and in the exposition of these cars: Let’s face it; you can look at these things a lot and see all you’re ever gonna see of the OUTSIDE: I like the details!

    2) “Beartooth Highway.” Connotes dynamics, and shows a great view, again, different than the standard ‘girlie’ shot. Love the depth of field effet, one of your best pix!

    3) “Garth Norton’s XKE.” Again, you can only look at so many gorgeous, same-as-a-hundred-other pix of a Jag; this has great color saturation, and a unique POV of the car in its natural environment. It shows movement and grace: Isn’t that what an e type’s all about, after all?

  3. Great pictures, but here are my favorites :

#3: Gary Herzberg’s Series 1 3.8 FHC: beautiful FHC pictured in the wild
#3: Miss January : all weather(and beautiful picture with the backround, light son etc…)
#9: Beartooth Highway : action photo and nice contrast /effect
#11: North Cascades Highway : great car in great landscape ready for a nice drive

    well

  4. Looking at others’ favorites and realized I mis-voted:

    Instead of:
    #2: Mt. Shuksan (Your car)

    Should be:
    #3: Miss January

Sorry. Butterfly ballots would likely confuse me as well. I guess I should just move to Palm Springs. 😉

    Cheers

  5. Some votes from the Jag-Lovers E-type mailing list:

I like #11, in the Cascades.

    Chuck,

I think the two slalom pix show you and your JCNA involvement
with the car. I like that. The others ore great scenery but
anybody can take shots of the mountains etc. They’re pretty..
    but.

I look at the slalom pix and I can hear it winding up, down
shifting, braking and you doing it.

My vote goes to—#4 Near Darrington,WA
Like to see that hanging on my wall!!
    Better yet–”parked in my garage!!”

BTW, I vote for #2: Mt. Shuksan–something symbolic about
this one–along the lines of the E-Type and the pinnacle of
    automotive art.

Wouldn’t mind a few more FHCs though—or are you waiting
    for mine:-)

Chuck I like #14–it could be the opening scene of a movie–hey
reset that WW arm on the drivers side–car looks wonderful!

Chuck, I’d be happy to have any of those pics hanging on my wall. Having to choose, I guess that I would select #10 ‘Somewhere in the West’ because of the anticipation of a great drive that it suggests. BTW, great panel fit on your car and nice wheels! Centerlaced Daytons?
