  1. ’59 Caddy Eldorado…I think the Eldorado can be distinguished by the “V” in the reverse lamp. And it in theory spells “E L D O R A D O” across the boot, but why is there a “D” in the last position here?

  2. Not an expert on Caddys, but I thought Eldorado was a trim level. Hm. Lemme look it up.

A four door sedan would either be a Sixty Two sedan (four or six window), a Sedan de Ville (four or six window), or a Fleetwood (aha!) Sixty Special or limo. I think this, based on the rear window shape, is a Sixty Special. There was a four-door Eldorado, the Brougham, but it was very rare–and cost $13,000 in 1959 (!). A neighbor bought his first house in 1962 for $12,000 in Kirkland.

This page helped me figure it out.
