I saw this car at a museum stop on the Forza Amelia a few years back. I fell hard for the whole package. I love this car…. even though I have never seen one other than this static display.
Do you know what it is?
(I photoshopped the identity off it, though I still think it is an easy one.)
a Toyota Starion from a few years back trying to look like an Italian job!! 🙂
Jerome
Alfa Romeo Montreal.
Indeed Carl. A limited production Icon of the 70s.
If anyone out there has one of these and would like to trade some seat time in an E-type Jag, let me know! 😉

These were fairly cheap for a decent while. As I recall, they are not the single most durable machine in the world. Unless prices have really taken off, you would be able to buy a couple of them by selling 65E.
I kinda like them, but the cartoony detailing isn’t very sublime. This is not a car that looks good in white, for sure.
I’ve always heard great things about how they sound as they have 2.5 dohc V8. But the chassis of overmatched being the same as the earlier GTV’s. The main mechanical letdowns are the one-off 8 port Spica mechanical injection unit and the water pump bearing that’s buried in the front of the block.
That hasn’t stopped me from daydreaming about one either though.
Well, I own an E-type Jaguar Chris… I embrace automotive adversity! =)

I’ve still never met anyone personally who bridged both the british and italian engineering paradym’s. I spent Saturday working on then driving my 65 Alfa. Afterwards, I spent the evening working on a friends 74 MGB. It sure seemed like to entirely different mindsets. As much as I would love to get an E-type, I think I’ve had Italian’s too long. I kept asking why in gods name would they do this or that all night.
