After yesterday’s name tagged cakewalk, I figure I’d give you guys a real test. There are a couple of ringers in here, so have fun!
Posting a hint on the remaining car:
Those of you in the peanut gallery can continue rattling off the cars in the background too. 😉
Hey chuck. You hooked me in this one. Here it goes from left to right
Ferrari 250 Europa, Ferrari 166MM, 1954 Morgan Plus 4, Ferrari 360 GTS, 1973 Porsche 911 RS, 1952 Packard Pininfarina(sometimes called a fastback), C2 Corvette Stingray(probabaly a 65 without the big block), and a XK 140 0r 150 ( the thin chrome bumper threw be since that was only on a XK-120 and the XK 120 had a leather bonnet hold down which doesn’t appear to be visible. I also figured it wasn’t a XK 120 since they seem to have come with black instead of chrome wire wheels)
oops I almost forgot what looks to be a mercedes 280SL 71-85(r107) in the distance
Close., WRONG!, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes (though IIRC it is a ’66, but NOT a 427), and CLOSE, but no.
and NO on the car in the distance. It is a 1979 450sl. 😉
Argh, beaten to it. Anyway this is what I was thinking:
Parked: From L-R
Ferrari 250 GT(E)? Coupe
Austin Healey 100-4 c1956
Morgan +4 c1966
Ferrari 550 Barchetta c2001
Packard -what does it say on the back “66 Bearcat” or something? Is that a rally. I don’t know my American iron…
Porsche 911 Carrera RS c1973
Corvette Sting Ray c1966
Jaguar XK 120 c1952
On Track
Sunbeam Alpine/Tiger c1968 -evidently I’m wrong, you guys have amazing eyesight
Mr. Angry Canine:
NO, YES, yes, Actually you are correct on the modern Ferrarii and Shaun was wrong!, Yes, it is a Packard Pinin Farina as Shaun said (a rare machine), yes, yes, YES. The Jag is an XK 120 FHC to be exact.
So all that is left is the Ferrari on the left. Anyone?
Posting a hint soon.
Win some, lose some I suppose but great quiz. I spent far to long on it. I suspected the Packard was a special bodied thing but I was way too fixated on the script on its butt.
Posting a hint hasn’t helped at all. I’m admitting defeat on identfiying the blue Ferrari. Please put me out of my misery…
The script on the Packard’s posterior says merely: “Packard”… with the Pinin Farina crossed flags above of course.
Any last chance guesses on the Ferrari? Bueller?
Background cars in photo #2 are: Healey, Vette, Healey, Healey, Morgan, etc.
I remember the Vette was a ’67, but I can never tell one Healey from another (sacrilege I know!) I’m sure Roger can fill in my big Healey shaped blanks. 😉
Ok, so I needed to be a little more specific on the older Ferrari. It appears to be a 1953 Europa PF Coupe. They were sometimes referred to as a 5 window Coupe (not sure why as there seem to be at least 6 windows. The car actually has a back seat. There is another alloy bodied one S/N 0325 that is in silver.

The correct answer is: 1953 Ferrari 212 Inter PininFarina Coupe:
Ah, mystery solved. I do fancy one too -now do I have a spare $400,000 lying around somewhere…?
