This is the business end of an exhaust fitted to a car in a most unusual fashion. The car should be pretty easy to guess for those that are studied sports-car spotters. The exhaust fitment is decidedly NON-stock, so disregard that when you’re making your guesses.
This car was seen on the Monte Shelton last year. It was navigated by one of those women with a very loud voice, whose laugh and conversation could be heard over the din of any crowd… perhaps it was because she was deafened from riding in this car all day? 😉
Bonus points for ID’ing the car reflected in the paint, though it is even easier than the main subject.
How about an XK120 with a late-model Alfa-Romeo Spider Veloce reflected?
“Tt was navigated by one of those women with a very loud voice, whose laugh and conversation could be heard over the din of any crowd…”
Um…was she about 5 foot nuthin, deep voice, red hair, cigarette in a looong ciggie holder, who never met a stranger in her life?
If so…I now know where my mom’s spirit went! Suuuure sounds familiar…..!
🙂 🙂
Yes, it is an XK 120, in fact this one:
The odd thing was the fact that somebody routed the exhaust to both sides of this car. Three pipes went to the left side, where you’d expect an XK-engined exhaust to be, and three routed under the car and over to the right side, where you’d least expect an XK-engined exhaust to be found.
oh, and yes, that is an Alfa Spider Veloce reflected in the paint.
