I remember (sorta)this one from my “Automobile Quartertly” collection! I think it’s the “Bi-AotoGo’ bike, but I cannot remember the date…midteens? I always thought it was cool it had a V-8, which is among my trivia questions for folks: “when was the first V8 put in Chevy (any takers?) and the same question for a motorcycle!
Do i get a teddy bear?..;)
woops..”Bi-AutoGo”..damn rented flingers.
w00t! OK Paul, I bow to your car-guy leet-ness. Yes. It is a Scripps-Booth Bi-Autogo. The one and only Scripps-Booth Bi-Autogo ever built. In 1913. yes, it also was equipped with the very first V8 engine built in Detroit.

but why would you ever make such a thing?? and please tell those training wheels at the back are not the real ones….
Jerome
You can google it to get more info Jerome, but this was very early in the days of the auto, and it was thought that being two wheeled would be “sportier”. The “training wheels” were there to prevent the three thousand pound monstrosity from falling over when parked or rolling slowly.
It was, as you can imagine, a bit difficult to drive.
There was also another version of this and the name escapes me, but AQ did a story on it: It was LARGER, holding I belive FOUR passengers, and it *leaned* in the turns…they eventually ended up burying the thing, then it was unearthed a long while later…it’s in some museum somewhere!
