Here’s a nice shot. IIRC this was the very first time I actually opened the door and stuck the camera out the bottom for a shot. It was taken on the Mille Autunno rally about this time four years ago. In fact I’m pretty sure it was exactly 4 years ago today.
We were driving around the Sierra Nevadas with a group of old cars. I’m pretty sure this was taken as we rounded the west shore of Lake Tahoe.
and no cameras lost to gravel rash in that time?

Not yet. No skin lost either. 😉
I was too chicken to do that with my Nikon. I need to get a cheap point and shoot with a wide angle for those adventurous shots, won’t cry as much if I lose it (and much easier to hold at weird angles)
Oh and nice shot BTW!
Thanks. After shooting with your camera I’m seriously considering a new rig though. (stay tuned for a post on that subject!) I’ll likely keep the old Olympus for shots like this though. 😉
The new Nikon D90 looks pretty sweet and also does 720p video. But you’ll need to come up with $500 minimum for a super wide angle. Mine has an 18-200 which covers 90% of what I want. I’m looking at this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/360350-REG/Tokina_ATX124AFPRON_12_24mm_f_4_AT_X_124AF.html for a wide angle.
Nifty shot. I’d like to be able to mount a camera to various parts of my car just so I could take some shots like that. I also want an HD video camera to get some on-road videos. The road out to the in-law’s house is a pretty sweet drive.
