The unmistakable, yet properly bug-splattered and UNpristine grille if an Alfa Romeo. Another shot from the Monte Shelton rally last year, which by the way is put on by the Alfa Romeo of Oregon (AROO) club. I don’t drive an Alfa, I just lust after them. Old AND new!
Sorry for the lack of posting lately… been a busy week. I have a great little tale of father/son bonding to tell from last weekend… even though said father & son were 100+ miles apart at the time. I’ll write it up asap… promise.
There is something elegant about the completion of a natural shape otherwise interrupted by a headlight.
Here is a gorgeous (IIRC) OSB 66 FHC XKE (is that enough acronyms for you?) at last year’s Monte Shelton Rally. I can’t recall their names, but I do remember them being fun guys, and their license plate frame having a programmable LED screen with funny notes on it. Always nice to rally with people who don’t take themselves too seriously!
I noted that one of our trees had little buds on it… perhaps Spring is coming sooner this year? I can’t wait!
Our friend John “Mad Dog” Morrow is sliding around some snow-covered road in France as we speak, participating in the Monte Carlo Historique. We all wish him luck and safe passage all the way home.
He promises me though, that he & his daughter, in their E-type FHC will join me & my dad at this year’s Monte Shelton NW Classic Rally later in the summer. Above is a shot of a big Healey waiting for its start at last year’s Monte Shelton.
There are four classic cars shown in this photo. Can you name them all?
