I’m not a Porschephile, BUT… I’ve always had a liking for these old Targas and those “flower” wheels that were popular in my early 70s childhood. I was attracted to this particular Targa more however for the wonderful reflection of the Pacific Ocean sunset in its paint. This was actually shot in VERY low light… hand held… using my digicam’s “night” setting, so it was surprising to get as good color as it did. Still not as good as it was in-person though. Beautiful evening at Otter Crest on the Oregon coast two summers ago, a night’s rest after a day of competitive TSD Rallying at the Monte Shelton Northwest Classic. While most folks were having drinks, I was wandering about the area where the cars were parked shooting photos in the amazing light. By the time I got to this Porsche it was almost gone.
Category: Car Photo Of The Day
Just another place to look at car stuff.
Car Photo(s) of the Day, last of the wet.
I’m leaving town tomorrow, headed south for (hopefully) warmer climes. San Francisco for Macworld Expo. I’ll still post while I’m gone, but I am going to wrap up the “wet classic” theme with a couple of photos of my own car, the beloved 65E, looking a bit moist on a dewy morning on the Oregon Coast.
My favorite Car photo of 2008.
While not as dramatic as some of my past work, this image is my favorite one from the past year. Once again, as in 2007 the chance to make it was afforded to me by Dr. Philippe Reyns. This photo was snapped from the passenger seat of his pre-war SS100 Jaguar as we ambled toward Libby, Montana on the 2008 Going To The Sun Rally.
Merci Philippe!
As I’m considering my plans for 2009 I think I’ll have to skip the GTTSR this year. All of my potential co-drivers have not been able to commit. Perhaps this year instead I’ll grab one (or both) of my boys and just go for a father/son road trip… follow our noses somewhere. I’ve done this before and I think it is time to do it again.
(Moist) Car Photo of the Day: Yeah, I like those Astons…
So sue me. 😉
There are aspects of the classic DB design that are just glorious to behold though you must admit.
So no guessing games here, though yesterday’s CPotD is still looking for a right answer.
Car Photo of the Day: Speaking of rain…
Another in a series of wet classic cars. Can you identify the make & model?
(Wet) Car Photo of the Day: Name that car!
It is wet, and red, and is crying out for somebody to name it. 😉
Car Photo(s) of the Day: More Wet Classics
Some are easily ID’ed, others not so. Can you name them all?
