Car Photo Of The Day… stuck in the Museum theme

Well, “stuck” may be the wrong word. I have so many good photos from this particular museum that I could stay on this track for months.

The car in front is pretty dam obvious, but can anyone name the one in the background?

You can claim the crown as the “Ultimate Car Geek” if you can name the fuzzy, out of focus slice of a car barely visible in front of the nose of the one in the background!

Museum theme continues…

Even though it is a bit blurry, some folks will instantly recognize this shape, whereas others will be baffled. Which camp are you in?

It is an object that radically changed the automotive world – for several reasons. A radically innovative bit of engineering in a radically modern car for its era.

It is also an object that is still sought after, almost 50 years after its invention, by independent car builders (namely hot rodders, custom car makers, etc) for its wonderful self-contained nature, combined with outstanding performance.

Truly deserving of a spot in a museum.

Another Museum Piece

The copyright notice is wrong on these, as I’m pretty sure I took these photos in 1998. I flew from the UK to NYC to participate in the 1998 New England 1000 Vintage Rally with my dad. It was the first time I had rallied with him since I was a teenager in his old MG TD. It was also the first time I had seen the 65E, as he’d completed the restoration (the first one that is) while I was away in Europe. One of the stops on the rally was a museum in Maine, that housed this wonder. Anyone care to guess what it is?
