65E picked for Autoblog “RR of the week”!

Well, the week came to an end, and they put it up for a vote, and The 65E won. I’m truly flattered.

I really liked both the ’68 BMW 1500 & the FrankenMidget.

The BMW owner did a great job of photographing his car. The composition and choice of background did the car justice. Plus it is a really cool car. If he ever drives it to the west coast I’d gladly swap a drive in my Jaguar for a drive in his BMW. I’d love to take it for a spin.

The FrankenMidget is just lunacy. While I’m not a big fan of “lumping” (engine swapping) cars, especially vintage British iron… but a rubber bumpered MG of the latter years is almost fair game. Plus, he dropped a bizarro mill (a Mazda Wankel) into it. Stripping the bumpers off gets Kudos as well. Go ahead Roger, gasp in horror!

They’ll keep out rocks, but that is about all. Whoever can name this car gets the title of “Car Geek of the Year”.

OK, I’m hoping this one will finally stump Roger a good one, and then when I reveal (or perhaps some really smart reader names it) he’ll slap his forehead so hard I hear the echo off the Cascade foothills.

Hey, I’m famous!

OK, so not really, my CAR is famous. The 65E has been selected to grace AutoBlog this morning. They chose it for the “Reader Ride of the Day” I’m honored.

Last time I was linked from there (the photo of the aston martin up on blocks sent by my friend Jerome in New Zealand) my traffic shot through the roof, and I picked up a few new readers. Welcome folks. I’m a Network Geek who works for a Web Hosting and Colocation company headquartered in Seattle named digital.forest. We’ve been around for over 12 years, which in web-time is a geological time-scale. I rarely talk about work here though, as this is my personal site. I mainly talk about, and really more often just SHOW PICTURES of cars. I attend vintage rallies in my Dad’s old Jaguar, and love to photograph old cars. The most common “feature” here is a “name that car” photo of the day, where car geeks look at things and display their depth of obscure car knowledge. The reigning big-brained car geek is Roger, who knows (almost) everything. So if you know your stuff, hang around and see if you can outwit him. 😉
